5210 Youth [MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS] We’re devoted to focusing inward: building an engaged, passionate, and spiritually healthy community of students. We’re also devoted to focusing outward, believing that Jesus, himself, set an example of service, and that we’ve been given the responsibility to follow it. IDENTITY BELONGING MISSION Is how we teach students the way of Jesus.
Who am I? What is my place? Why am I here? These are primary questions that shape choices, values, actions, and relationships in a person’s life. But the answers to these questions are fuzzy unless we know how to ask three core questions. Who is God? What is the Church? Why was Jesus here? By learning to view the world and ourselves through the lens of these three core questions, we're able to have clarity and understanding about the first three initial questions. In knowing God, we discover our identity. In experiencing the life of the Church, we find belonging. In following Jesus, we're given mission. What would compel students to take what they know and then work to bring change into the world? We believe it’s I-B-M: when students know their identity as children of God and find belonging in His family, they may have a little difficulty grabbing hold of a role in His mission. That’s why you’ll find I-B-M integrated into everything we do. Join Us! We invite you to take this journey with us - there are a number of opportunities where you can get involved: DEVO [Tuesday Nights] 5:45 p.m. Discover community by joining our high school devotion group [DEVO]. Study held on Tuesday nights where we ask the question: “What does it look like for us to live out The Kingdom of God today?” We are constantly exploring, questioning and wrestling with new and creative ways to live out and communicate the teachings of Jesus. Together, we are helping each other live the best kind of life - the life God made us to live. ReGroup [Wednesday Nights] 5:45 p.m. Participate in a group of middle school students bent on getting to know their Creator a little bit better.
SUNDAY SCHOOL [Anderson Hall Rm. 1 & 2] 10-10:40 a.m. On Sunday mornings students are invited to participate, study, and to learn. Classes explore the Bible and various related themes in a number of different ways. DoLove Get involved in one of our ongoing service [DoLove] initiatives. Our outward focus centers on the example of service set by Jesus himself. We believe it’s our responsibility and privilege to serve as He did. Projects focus on actively being involved in each one of the following core issues: Poverty, Environmental Stewardship, Education, and Prevention.
